God appears to Abraham in the form of three visitors. Abraham shows generous hospitality, and during the visit God promises that Sarah will bear a son within a year. Sarah overhears and laughs, but God reminds them that nothing is too hard for Him. Afterward, God reveals His plan to judge Sodom and Gomorrah, and Abraham boldly intercedes, asking God to spare the cities if even ten righteous people can be found.
